Robotic Fabrication Lab, HKUST
We are seeking Research Assistants and Ph.D. students to join the Robotic Fabrication Lab in the Division of Integrative Systems and Design (ISD) at HKUST. Our lab conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of AI, robotics, computational design, and fabrication, with the goal of addressing real-world challenges in design, manufacturing, and construction.
We are currently prioritizing candidates for Fall 2027 admission with a strong background in computer graphics, especially those with publications at SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia, or related top venues. Successful candidates will work on topics including:
- Computational fabrication
- AI-assisted CAD/CAE/CAM
We also welcome candidates with experience in robotics, particularly in the following areas:
- Robot hardware and end effector design
- Vision-language-action models
